*Note: This aphorism directly follows the blessing of the persecuted in the gospel of Thomas.
 To facilitate comparison of texts I have retro-translated Thomas' saying from Coptic to Greek
using Michael Grondin's literal Interlinear Coptic-English Translation of GThom
