    ἐπὶ κλίνης μιᾶς,   κλινάντες ἐπὶ κλίνης·
  εἷς παραλαμβάνεται     εἷς παραλημφθήσεται   εἷς ἀποθνῄσκει,
  καὶ εἷς ἀφίεται·     καὶ ὁ ἕτερος ἀφεθήσεται·   εἷς ζήσεται.  
41 δύο ἀλήθουσαι   35 ἔσονται δύο ἀλήθουσαι    
  ἐν τῷ μύλῳ,     ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτό,    
  μία παραλαμβάνεται     μία παραλημφθήσεται    
  καὶ μία ἀφίεται.     ἡ δὲ ἑτέρα ἀφεθήσεται.    

 

** Note: in the gospel of Thomas this aphorism introduces a dialogue with a hostess named Salome.
