250	DISCIPLES SEEK HONOR

20	Then the mother of	35	And James and John,
	the sons of Zeb'edee		the sons of Zeb'edee,
	came up to him,		came forward to him,
	with her sons,
	and kneeling before him
			and said to him,
			"Teacher, we want you to do for us
	she asked him for something.		whatever we ask of you."
21	And he said to her,	36	And he said to them,
	"What do you want?"		"What do you want me to do for you?"
	She <says> to him,	37	And they said to him,
	"Command		"Grant us
	that these two sons of mine may sit,		to sit,
	one at your right hand		one at your right hand
	and one at your left,		and one at your left,
	in your kingdom."		in your glory."
22	But Jesus answered,	38	But Jesus said to them,
	"You do not know what you are asking.		"You do not know what you are asking.
	Are you able to drink the cup		Are you able to drink the cup
	that I <am going to> drink?"		that I drink,
			or to be baptized with the baptism
			with which I am baptized?"
	They <say> to him,	39	And they said to him,
	"We are able."		"We are able."

	"You will drink my cup,		"The cup that I drink you will drink;
			and with the baptism
			with which I am baptized,
			you will be baptized;
	but to sit at my right hand and at my left	40	but to sit at my right hand or at my left
